Week 1 of the menu planning challenge was successful. I set a menu at the beginning of the week, bought only the groceries that were needed for the menu and followed it (for the most part). I haven't figured out how much I spent on groceries for the week but that is really not the primary purpose of this challenge for me. Good thing, since today's lunch out with my husband at a cost of $63 would be over half of the weekly food budget!
Here is this week's menu. I haven't figured out the grocery list yet or obviously picked up the groceries. I will do that tomorrow night. Thankfully, tomorrow's menu item is something I didn't prepare yesterday so I have everything I need.
